"Well, [younger person], life has always been hard!"

Sure, that's true. Life isn't supposed to be a cakewalk. Most of us will always have to work hard to make our way upstream.

But here's the reality: in crucial ways, things are harder now than they were 30-40 years ago (when today's Baby Boomers were coming of age).

If you have a skeptical parent or grandparent, or a discouraged child or grandchild, give them the facts! Or download and print a pdf poster to put up in your local coffee shop, office, etc.

For a thorough analysis, refer to our reports:

** Both reports include a thorough comparison of stats from all provinces **

When shown these statistics, especially the housing stats, many people who lived through the high interest rates of the 80's will wonder if the cost of housing is really any higher, now.

Answer: yes, both the total cost of housing and the monthly cost of housing is higher, now.
