The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) has partnered with Generation Squeeze to lead a Solutions Lab titled: "Wealth and the Problem of Housing Inequity Across Generations." Gen Squeeze received $250,000 to facilitate this Lab, which was organized over 18 months, starting in March 2020, slowed down by the pandemic, and concluding in the fall of 2021. The Lab engaged over 60 industry, community and academic experts, including three working groups that focused on the role of monetary & lending policy, tax policy, and protective policy as factors influencing housing unaffordability. The funds for this Lab were provided from the National Housing Strategy (NHS) as part of its NHS Solutions Lab funding stream. While the CMHC generously funds the Lab, it accepts no responsibility for the views and ideas expressed by participants, including the Lab's lead organization, Generation Squeeze.
