Town hall with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

The Prime Minister sat down with our supporters on June 25, 2024 in Vancouver to explore the generational tensions that motivated Ottawa’s promise of Fairness for Every Generation in the 2024 federal budget. The Prime Minister and Gen Squeeze Founder Paul Kershaw had a candid conversation about what it means to not “let young people down” when new polling finds that over half of young Canadians think that “politicians are more interested in promoting and protecting the interests of older generations than people my age.”

Watch the video or listen to our podcast to hear the conversation about housing, generational solidarity, and making change in the world of politics.

Don’t forget to support our call for an Act to Safeguard the Wellbeing of Present and Future Generations to protect in law the progress made in Budget 2024. Here’s what the PM had to say about this ask: “I think it's a really interesting idea, and I think it's something that you and I can probably work together on.”

A big shout out to all of the supporters and allies who joined us for this event. We appreciated your great questions and the conversations they sparked with the PM.
