Wesgroup is one of Western Canada’s largest private real estate developers.
We first engaged with Wesgroup both in the lead up and during our 2016 Building Housing Common Ground event, of which came ten common ground principles for tackling the #CodeRed housing crisis. While each participant helped shape all ten principles, it’s fair to say Wesgroup and Gen Squeeze share particular interest in:
- Principle 4: “Level the Playing Field Between Renters and Owners,” especially as it concerns the incentivization of more purpose-built rental.
- Principle 7: “Encourage Density, Diversity and Efficiency” to help improve young people’s access to a range of suitable housing options.
- Principle 10: “Mobilize Younger Generations” to ensure young people’s voices are heard and reflected in municipal, provincial, and federal housing decisions.
Wesgroup is currently contributing $75,000 to our #CodeRed affordability campaign and core operations (2018).
We’re proud to have the support of Wesgroup! We encourage you to check them out.
