Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 2022
Generation Squeeze is committed to protecting your personal information and respecting your privacy. Our privacy policy is designed to protect personal information you provide to Generation Squeeze, and outlines the principles and practices we follow in protecting this information.
Collecting Personal Information
Personal information is any information about an identifiable individual.
We do not require you to provide personal information to view the majority of content on our website. However, when you sign up to join our network, receive our newsletter, or participate in online actions hosted on our website, we will collect personal information such as:
- Name
- Postal code
- Phone number
- Email address
- Social media handles
We use this information to provide information, updates and announcements to you. At the time of collecting personal information, we will inform you of the purposes for which we are collecting it.
Consent
We will ask for consent to collect, use, or disclose your personal information, except in specific circumstances where collection, use, or disclosure without consent is authorized or required by law.
You may withdraw consent to the use and disclosure of personal information at any time, unless the personal information is necessary for us to fulfill our legal obligations. We respect your decision, but we may not be able to provide certain services if you are unwilling to provide consent or if you withdraw consent.
Safeguarding Personal Information
We take every reasonable precaution to protect your personal information. When you submit personal information, your information is protected both online and offline. We retain personal information only as long as is reasonable to fulfill the purposes for which the information was collected or for legal or business purposes.
Generation Squeeze never trades, shares, or sells email addresses or phone numbers. We use them only to provide you with information.
Wherever we collect credit card data, for example on our donation pages, that information is encrypted and transmitted to payment processors in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a closed lock icon at the bottom of your web browser, or looking for "https" at the beginning of the address of the web page. Your credit card information is securely stored by the payment processors themselves and we do not have access to it (save for the last four digits of your credit card, which helps us to identify your donation should you decide to cancel or modify it). When making a donation over the phone, your credit card information is similarly encrypted and transmitted to the payment processor, and we do not keep a separate record of your credit card information online or offline. We do not sell, rent or otherwise share this information with anyone, and access is limited to staff members involved in billing and member services.
As a registered charity, Generation Squeeze collects donations, and issues receipts for these donations, through the Canada Helps online platform. Canada Helps is a registered Canadian charity that facilitates donations and fundraising on behalf of other charitable organizations. When you make a donation on Canada Helps, Generation Squeeze does not have access to your credit card information. More information about the Canada Helps Privacy Policy can be found at: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/privacy-policy

Cookies
The Generation Squeeze website uses cookies (including Google, Twitter, and Facebook tracking tools) to monitor ad campaign results and traffic sources.
