Our new report card shows that Ottawa has more work to do to live up to its game-changing budget promise of Fairness for Every Generation.

We graded the government’s performance on five key intergenerational competencies. Across the board, we found that recent progress isn’t enough to ensure that Canadians are being good ancestors to those who follow.

Generational Fairness Report Card for the Government of Canada

Bilan de l’équité intergénérationnelle du gouvernement du Canada

The Prime Minister’s recent support for the first ever United Nations Declaration for Future Generations gives us a clear window for action. Our report card sets out the steps Ottawa must take to make the grade on generationally fair policies for all Canadians.

The adoption of the UN Declaration by countries around the world affirms that the wellbeing of younger and future generations is a global priority — not a partisan one. Join us in urging Canada to claim a place as a global leader by adopting an Act to Safeguard the Wellbeing of Young and Future Canadians.
