Generational fairness

Generational fairness

What the #$@!% is generational fairness?

Generational unfairness is the underlying disease driving some of Canada's biggest problems: unaffordable housing, the high cost of raising a family, a deteriorating climate, age imbalances in government spending and debt, and rising medical care investments that aren’t making our country healthier.

A broken generational system

Canada’s generational system is broken, because we’re not living up to the principles of generational fairness.

Feeling the squeeze?

How you experience our broken generational system depends on when you were born.

Worried about your legacy?

How you experience our broken generational system depends on when you were born. If you're over 55, read on to find symptoms you may recognize.

Help us build a Canada that works for all generations.

As a national organization, we recognize the importance of thinking deeply about our shared responsibility to reconciliation, acting in accordance with the inherent rights of First Nations, Inuit and Metis peoples across Canada. We also have much to learn from the rich traditions of intergenerational solidarity that Indigenous peoples have lived with for millennia. Our leadership team members are grateful to live and work on the ancestral, unceded territories of the q̓ic̓əy̓ məlstəyəxʷ (Katzie), xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), and Omámíwininíwag Anishinaabeg peoples.
