Leave a cleaner legacy

We all want to do right by the people we love — especially our kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, and young friends. That’s why we’re focusing on a simple principle:

If you make a mess, clean it up.

When it comes to pollution, that should go for industry too. We already have one of the best tools to make that happen: a price on industrial carbon pollution. It holds polluters accountable, so they can’t offload the cost of dirty air, health risks, and extreme weather damage onto the rest of us, or onto our kids and future generations.

It works. It’s fair. But it’s under threat.

Our kids are counting on us to step up to protect this policy. Over 3/4 of young Canadians say climate change affects their mental health. Half feel betrayed by governments that delay or avoid meaningful action. They're asking us to do the right thing. That begins with making sure industries can't pollute for free.

So let’s remind our leaders that we must pay for our pollution because we love our kids. We expect our kids to clean up their messes – we should expect the same from our business and industries.
