Tell Canada’s leaders that it’s well past time to protect our kids and communities from the health risks of leaded aviation fuel. Flight training and recreational aviation should no longer depend on spreading this potent toxin over the places where children live, grow, and play.

Decades ago, Canada eliminated lead from gasoline for cars because of the risks it poses to human health. Yet aviation gasoline remains a major loophole. Health Canada is clear that no level of lead exposure is considered safe for children’s brain development.

The United States has already committed to transition away from leaded aviation fuel by 2030. Canada must do the same — and ensure that new investments in regional airports help get the lead out rather than increase our reliance on it.
